Day 1: Our tour starts in Istanbul where you’ll spend the day visiting the old city. Spend the day discovering the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, the Obelisk of Theodosius, Serpentine Column, the German Fountain of Wilhelm II and the Grand Bazaar. Enjoy a delicious lunch and then continue to Topkapi Palace and Suleymaniye Mosque. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 2: Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel before we depart for the ancient city of Troy. Troy, famous for it’s legendary Trojan Horse and Helen, Queen of Sparta is an important archaeological site with nearly 4000 years worth of history. The extensive remains found at this site are good indications of the meeting of two ancient civilizations, those of the Anatolia and of the Mediterranean. Overnight in Canakkale.
Day 3: After breakfast at your hotel, we will proceed on a full day tour of the ancient city of Ephesus. Ephesus, one of the best preserved classical city of the Eastern Mediterranean dated back to 2000 years BC. We will walk along the sacred marble street connecting the Great Theater with the library of Celsius. We will see the Commercial Agora and walk along the marble Curetes Street which has beautiful mosaics paved on sidewalks, explore the gymnasium, visit temple of Hadrian, the Temple of Artemis and the Library of Celcus. Overnight in Selcuk.
Day 4: After breakfast, we’ll head to Pamukkale, also known as the “Cotton Castle.” Famous for its healing thermal and mineral baths and beautiful, snow-white petrified waterfalls. After lunch visit Hierapolis, an ancient city with a magnificiently preserved Necropolis, main street, gates, and the thermal baths. Overnight in Pamukkale.
Day 5: After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, we will depart from Pamukkale and head to Xanthos-Letoon, the one time capital of the Lycian world. Xanthos is where you will see the blending of Lycian traditions and Hellenic influences. Overnight in Fethiye.
Day 6: After breakfast, we will depart Fethiye and head to Konya. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore this amazing city. Overnight in Konya.
Day 7: We’ll get off to an early start today as we head to over to visit the spectacular landscapes of Cappadocia. Today we’ll take you on a full day tour of Cappadocia where you’ll have a chance to experience Cappadocia’s Devrent Imagination Valley. The Zelve open air museum, Pasabaglari(Fairy chimneys), Avanos where you’ll experience a pottery demonstration with the Hittite tecnique, lunch in the Pigeon valley, the Uchisar rock-castle, Esentepe and Goreme open air museum. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 8:Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Today we’ll go and visit Mustafapasa, Keslik monastery, Taskinpasa medresesi(an Ottoman theological school), Soganli valley, Cemil (Greek-orthodox church) and Kaymakli underground city. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 9: After breakfast we will continue our tour to Adiyaman. Upon arrival, the rest of the evening is yours to relax.
Day 10: After breakfast we will head to Nemrut Dag, a mountain located in Southeast Turkey known for a 1st century BC tomb of Antiochus at it’s summit, flanked by huge statues of various animals and both Greek and Persian Gods. The statues have since been damaged and the heads lay scattered about. Overnight in Adiyaman.
Day 11: We will depart from Adiyaman and head for Sivas. On the way to Sivas we will stop and visit the Great Mosque in Divrigi and it’s adjoining hospital, built in 1299. Overnight in Sivas.
Day 12: We will depart from Sivas after breakfast and head to Hattusa, once the Hittite capital. Hattusa is notable for it’s preserved construction of temples, royal residences and fortifications. Overnight in Yozgat.
Day 13: From Yozgat we will continue our journey to Safranbolu. Safranbolu has preserved many of it’s old buildings with 1008 registered artifacts. It was the architecture of Safranbolu that influenced urban development during the Ottoman empire. Overnight in Karabuk.
Day 14: The morning is free for you to enjoy Safranbolu. In the afternoon we will head back to Istanbul where our tour concludes.
Note: This is a private tour and must be booked in advance. The tour can also be done with a reverse route.
